Is 30 the new 20?
As scientists, we usually think that the brain finishes developing around the time of early adulthood, around age 20. Using tests from this website, we decided to take a look at how well people of different ages can recognize faces. The results really surprised us. Although our results are still preliminary, it seems that face recognition ability may not peak until a person is in his/her 30s!
As we said, these results are very preliminary: we're not completely certain yet what this means or whether we would find the same results if we used different kinds of tests. It does confirm our suspicion, however, that some things do get better with age. :-)
